My Art

I was educated in Los Angeles, earning my BFA at California Institute of Arts, Valencia. I had a métier in Printmaking at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena under the direction of Master Printmaker Anthony Zepeda. I also pursued bronze casting at Otis Parsons Institute in Los Angeles. I began a series of mixed media, process paintings in large scale about the periodic sunspot cycles of our Sun in 1997. The unseen electromagnetic energy of our sun, how it affects our planet, our lives, and the lack of scientific understanding of the Sun by today’s scientists became the inspiration for these paintings. The matte resin finish held the perfect analogy of the Sun’s concealed nature. Sunlight and natural phenomena are central to my work.
